AS3935 Lightning Sensor Breakout Board, I2C, SPI

Add a lightning detector to your weather station with our AS3935 Lightning Sensor Breakout Board. The sensor can detect natural lightning within a radius of up to 40 km. The distance to the lightning event can be measured with an accuracy of 1 km.

Technically, the detection is done by an 500 kHz band antenna. The AS3935 sensor chip applies filter mechanisms to prevent false positives and to minimize noise.

This module can be accessed by I2C or SPI and offers an interrupt output which triggers a connected microcontroller whenever a lighting has been detected.
