CCS811 Air Quality Sensor for VOC, TVOC and eCO2

The CCS811 Air Quality Sensor Breakout Board is made for indoor air quality monitoring. It is capable of detecting various Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and can be accessed using any microcontroller with I2C bus or Arduino board. The sensor outputs the sum of the concentrations of all VOC, which is called Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC), and the equivalent CO2 level (eCO2).

The eCO2 concentration range goes from 400 to 8192 parts per million (ppm) and for the TVOC the measurements ranges from 0 to 1187 parts per billion (ppb). According to the fact sheet it can detect Alcohols, Aldehydes, Ketones, Organic Acids, Amines, Aliphatic and Aromatic Hydrocarbons.

Please note that the sensor needs to heat up for ca. 20 mins. before accurate sensor readings are available. The operating voltage ranges from 1.8 to 3.3 V.
