The benefit of this sensor compared to most of the other moisture sensors is that no metal is exposed to water. This leads to longterm stable measurements with no oxidizing contacts.

The sensor value is easy to read out with any microcontroller with ADC like e.g. any Arduino board. The analog output has a voltage of around 2.7V when completely try and around 1V when put into water directly. The sensor comes with a cable so there's no soldering required. You can power this sensor with 3.3V or 5V. Please note, that the electronics on the PCB are not protected from moisture.
